The Marrakesh Declaration
on the Rights of Minorities in Muslim-Majority Lands
In January 2016 leading Muslim scholars from over 50 countries gathered in Morocco to issue the Marrakesh Declaration.
This Declaration is a catalyst for Muslims today to develop frameworks in Islamic jurisprudence for Muslim support of equal citizenship before the law in Muslim-majority countries.
It is rooted in the traditions of Islam. It calls upon Muslims to reflect on the Constitution of Medina from 1AH / 622CE for guidance in today's world.
